Ladies Golf Update!

         Golf, the life long sport, has continued to grow in popularity over the years at Como Park High School. Girls join the golf team, invite their friends to play, and end up enjoying it so much that they return for the next season. This year, Como Park has eighteen golfers; the most it has ever had! Ten of the girls play and rotate in for Varsity matches, while the other 8 girls practice the rules and their swing, getting prepared to play on the Varsity team in the years to come.

            Como has always been very competitive with Highland and Central’s golf teams, and has always struggled to take an overall win at a match against them. This season, the Como girls have improved, giving them a second place standing in the St. Paul City Conference with 33 points, while Highland Park leads by a mere two points. It will all come down to the city conference match next Thursday at Highland National.

            We wish the six varsity players, Sarah Davy, Greta Schrader, Anna Nicholson, Claire Holdreith, Celeste Daniels, and Carolyn Croce, much luck at the Conference match next Thursday, and also at the Sections tournament the following Thursday. Maybe one of the girls will even make it to state!
