Guess what guys, the Como Park library has received a truckload of new books. Curious yet? Well, here is a short list and description of some, with more to come later.

Before I Die: A terminally ill teenaged girl makes and carries out a list of things to do before she dies.

*Bang: A teenage boy must face the harsh realities of inner city life, a disintegrating family, and destructive temptations as he struggles to find his identity as a young man.

The Dear One: Twelve-year-old Feni has to adjust when the pregnant young daughter of an old friend of her mother’s comes to stay with them.

Football: a History of the Gridiron Game: Discusses the origins and evolution of the game of football, as well as memorable events and key personalities in the game’s history.

After Tupac & D. Foster:In the New York City borough of Queens in 1996, three girls bond over their shared love of Tupac Shakur’s music, as together they try to make sense of the unpredictable world in which they live.

Absolute Brightness: In the beach town of Neptune, New Jersey, Phoebe’s life is changed irrevocably when her gay cousin moves into her house and soon goes missing.

Diva: Despite her mother’s objections, sixteen-year-old Caitlin is determined to pursue her dream of becoming an opera singer by attending a performing arts school in Miami.

The Gray-eyed Goddess: Retells the part of Homer’s “Odyssey” in which Odysseus is trapped on Calypso’s island and his son Telemachus goes in search of him.
