With the 2010 season approaching its end, the Como Park Boy’s Swim Team currently holds 3rd place in the standings. They have so far won four out of six meets, losing one meet to Central(2nd place with 5 wins 1 loss) and one to Highland(3rd place with 6 wins and 0 losses). In the Conference Meet on February 13, Como Park Swim Team got 3rd place with Medals won by Justin Miller, Seyha Saumweber, Carl Kron, Evan Hanson, Shawn Halvorson, and Craig Knuth.
The swimmers are not done yet, since still upcoming are two of the more important events of the season. Coming up on the Swim Team’s schedule is the Sectional Meets on Thursday Feb 24- Saturday Feb 27. In order to make it onto the State Tournament on March 4-6, it is necessary to get into the top 3 in Sectionals, or beat the State Qualifying time of 23 seconds in the 50 meter Freestyle. This challenge is met by a team who so far, despite its lack of a diving team, and a shortage of swimmers, is still holding its own in the standings.
