During the course of this season Como Park’s gymnastics team has made great leaps and bounds forward. The team had a rocky start but it didn’t take much time before everyone started picking up speed and learning new skills. The team has also grown in size and has welcomed in a large group of freshmen and others onto the team. There are also returning veterans like Mitzi Peine and Chelsea Preiner who have done great jobs as captains and competing at meets.
In the first preview meet on December 5th the team scored 73.30. Since then the team has worked very hard to develop, making many new people compete in more events. Returning coaches Megan Seckler and Marvin Rauss have really pushed the team forward making them learn more difficult skills and perfecting routines. It may have been hard during the season but the effort of the entire team really shows.
The last meet of the season on Saturday, February 20th the team scored 93.525 which is the highest score reached in the past 2 seasons. This is a great sign for next year and many more to come.
