Girls Basketball Update

YAY! The Cougars score. It’s 52-50 now all they have to do is keep the ball away from Johnson. The buzzer goes off, all the fans are going crazy and the team is imbued with smiles. But the Governors were also cheering. They had scored a 3 pointer after the buzzer had already rung but the officials counted it and left in a rush. Last Tuesday January 12th, the day Como’s girls varsity had faced their conference rival, Johnson High school. A game full of fouls and animosity lead to a 50-50 tie. The ladies buckled down and took them into overtime with excellent defense and offensive strategies that should have won the game.

The controversy with this game was huge. After review of the tape Como did actually win that game. But due to the absence of an official, reviewing the tape was useless. Johnson also won the next game against Como with a scorching score of 44-62. The lady Cougars have been up and down with wins, coming to the end of their season their current record 6-7.
